Ogles Watch Neighborhood Association Recycling Day
On Saturday, May 1st, 2021 the Ogles Watch Neighborhood Association held their annual community recycling day. They partnered their event with HEALTHIER TOGETHER, St. Matthew United Methodist Church, J&J Recycling, The File Room, and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department to appropriately dispose of the unwanted items for recycling. The Ogles Neighborhood Watch Association opened this event to the general public allowing for residents to bring items like computers, printers, electric motors, appliances, and other large and unwanted electronics for only $0.50 per pound. They also have a document shredding component, an ink cartridge recycling station, and a place to drop expired prescriptions to be disposed of safely.
This year’s event did not disappoint and had a large turnout. The recycling collection yielded a huge haul, resulting in over two truckloads of electronics, a full truckload of documents for shredding, two extra-large bags of expired prescription medications, and over 200 ink and toner cartridges. The proceeds of this year's event were donated to BackStoppers. To learn more about Backstoppers, INC. click HERE.
