Mental healthcare is in crisis in rural Illinois. Not only do rural regions face a staggering lack of mental and behavioral health care providers, but the systems in which rural residents receive mental and behavioral healthcare are disconnected, inefficient, poorly funded and outdated.
SIU Medicine Department of Population Science and Policy, SIU Medicine Center for Rural Health and Social Service Development, Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, and UIC School of Public Health are proud to present “COVID-19 and Rural Mental Health,” the second of a series of webinars focused on how COVID-19 impacted various aspects of mental health in rural Illinois, at noon on Thursday, May 13 (CDT).
Register for all the webinars in the series and learn more about the Rural Health Summit report and policy recommendations.
