This is a new funding opportunity through IDOT that was just announced and an accompanying webinar series that will be hosted by the Active Transportation Alliance and Illinois Public Health Institute.
Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) grant funding opens on August 16 through September 30, 2021. The program funds projects that improve conditions for walking and biking within 2-miles of an elementary or middle school. We will be hosting two webinars – one to review the program guidelines and walk you through the application and another for open Q&A.
Please register below if you would like to learn more and are interested in applying to SRTS this year:
- Webinar 1: SRTS Grant Guidelines on Thursday, August 19, 11:30am to 1pm
- Webinar 2: SRTS Grant Q&A on Wednesday, September 8, 11:30am to 1pm
Additionally, for advice on writing a successful grant application, the Illinois Section of ITE is hosting a webinar on August 11 at noon that may be helpful to you.
